Join Land Trust Director Stephen Shaw for a winter hike at Sweetheart Mountain on Saturday Feb 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Shaw has hiked the entire blue trail system in Connecticut. His other experiences include hiking the 100 highest peaks in New England, and the 115 4,000 footers in the Northeast.

The 2.5 mile hike varies in difficulty from challenging (yellow and blue blazes) to moderate (red blaze) to easy (blue with white dot blaze). The trails loop through woodlands and past a scenic overlook of Collinsville and the Farmington River. This land is the former home of the Canton Ski Club, so you’ll get a close a look at old ski lift equipment along the way.

Directions: Turn left at 84-98 Dunne Ave. into the unpaved parking lot
